Statement

Literacy,

Memory Retention

and Non Secular

Abstract Iconography.

My work leans on the lovely themes of; Exploring and Expanding the Meaning and Feeling of Calligraphy, Lost Memory Retention, Object Empathy and Not Knowing.

Play helps me shape the organic outcome and meaning of each artwork and sways the way I respond to the materials I choose to use. These can include reactive things in my immediate environment, along with my own existing artwork which I happily re-purpose to create others.

Poems

Staring holes into

bare walls.

Nothing.

A dull thud.

Sway.

Empty echo's

Scantily clad.

A dull thud.

Sway.

Stare stains.

Dumb drums.

A dull thud.

Ricochet.

Are Some-things Electric?

Shivering

again

feigning

something

on

prickly concrete.

Praxiteles thighs.

Mint and Talc.

See

four marks on wall,

four past scars,

four last things.

See

hands

and feet

dancing, dancing, dancing, dancing.

See

rectangles as

doors or faces.

Mirror then bed then pillow then ceiling.

Rectangles

Fingers interlaced,

stiff arms locked,

spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning.

Shivering.

There's something there.

Words must fail.

See.

It's cold outside.

Escape Hatch

Therapy doesn't work.

With a memory like a sieve.

When it comes to the end

who wants to be mended.

Who wants to know

which hand holds the coin,

or which cup hinds the ball.

Who needs the need

to demystify mystery's,

or untangle tangles.

You can hide from the truth.

Let it lie.

Memories escape me

and so will I.
